Kungfu School News:
Recent and Upcoming Events

For many years, Grandmaster Chang has been teaching his private classes from his home studio, having moved the classes there from his school in Chinatown long ago, but recently he sold the home and moved. The classes were held at the Masonic Hall on Broadway for awhile.

Classes are sometimes held at 505 Studio on Hamilton Street or outdoors at UBC, weather and schedules permitting.

To inquire about joining or even just observing a class,
call Grandmaster Chang at 604-876-4038

The news items are in reverse chronological order: latest at the top of the list.

This is GRANDMASTER LAM TUNG - The world spiritual leader of Gee Kung ( a
living Buddah in the eight century ) - the " reincarnation and the chosen
successor"- Award recipient of Top Ten Charity 2007-2008 for having built 100 schools
in Asian Countries. He met Grandmaster Chang in a recent celelbration event
and the two leaders became very close friends. Lam said that they were
brothers in former lives, as shown by the fact that they both have only a single centre line on their palms (most people have a split or divided centre line on their palms).

In the summer and fall of 2009, this website was experiencing prolonged diffuculties. Our apologies for the inconvenience and confusion. The problems were eventually solved by several of the students - past and present - working together, especially Sihing Gary Towne and Sihing Henry Lei. We are now pleased to see the website is fully operational again.

In the spring of 2009, Master Joe celebrated his 50th birthday by having a kungffu event and dinner with Grandmaster Chang and the students.

Each year in the fall, the school celebrates both Grandmaster Chang's birthday and the anniversary of the founding of the Vancouver school, typically by having an open house, kung fu demos, testing of students, a lion dance, and of course a Chinese meal. In 2008, we celebrated Chang's 63rd birthday.
