Rescue:
The 1990 Mandarin Hit!
The storyline (based on a true story):
In World War 2, an American Air Force pilot of the Flying Tigers
was flying over Yunnan province of southern China on a special mission,
carrying vital information. He was shot down and captured by Japanese
invasion forces. A small rescue party of American GIs teamed up with
resistance guerilla fighters in the minority tribes of the south.
The GIs and local guerillas together conducted an International Rescue
of the pilot and his information vital to the war effort. In the process,
we encounter double-espionage, bravery, self-sacrifice, all packed
into a powerful drama and action story.
The Movie (70 mm widescreen film):
Just as the story is very multicultural, the making of the movie
is also very international. The production itself was quite the
international venture, with Canadian, American, French, and top
Chinese actors (hand-picked by the the Chinese film Bureau) working
together for a few months in China, and receiving lots of media
attention. The movie is shown in Mandarin in China, but now, the
lead actor, Stephen Chang, has full access and rights to the movie
for distribution outside of China.
Nowadays, to make that kind of movie with great numbers of stars
and many explosions, all done with real action - no computer graphics
- and on such high resolution film (70 mm!) would cost tens of millions
of dollars. Stephen Chang, the lead actor, has acquired the rights
for global distribution for a nominal price. It is our intention
to raise money in order to send a team to China to dub the movie
into English, redo some of the soundtrack, and prepare the movie
for global distribution.
We are currently looking for investment money for this grand, international
venture. If interested, please contact Stephen Chang via Email
or phone (see below).
